The Twelve Districts
District One: In charge of creating luxury items for the capitol of Panem (we'll get to them later). In a sense, they harvest precious gems, create the manufacture the velvet and like. This District is considered one of the wealthy class, and the living conditions range from Capitol conditions to adequate. When the Hunger Games were announced to be an annual thing, this wealthy district started training their kids for the games in the art of killing and survival. They are known as one of the three career districts.
District Two: In charge of the stone quarries. They also work in weaponry and training the main military (also called Peacekeepers) of Panem, as well as medicine. This District is considered one of the wealthy class, and the living conditions range from Capitol conditions to adequate. District Three: In charge of general electronics. This district has such a wide variety of manufacturing and invention that it's hard to classify it.This District is considered one of the middle class, and the living conditions range from very good to adequate.
District Four: In charge of bringing in fish and data on the ocean. Like District Three, you can find a variety of jobs here: from fishing to marine life research. Most of the residents work as fishermen, and bring the nation in a large supply of fish for food. This District is considered one of the wealthy class, and the living conditions range from Capitol conditions to adequate. District Five: In charge of DNA Manipulations and Mutations. They create mutations with animals that are used in the Hunger Games, as well as military fare. Besides that-- this District is considered one of the three scientific research districts. They deal with general science beyond mutations. This District is considered one of the middle class, and the living conditions range from very good to adequate.
District Six: In charge of Medical Research and Medical Drug production (along with District Two). Besides that-- this District is considered one of the three scientific research districts. This District is considered a middle class district and deal with living conditions from very good to adequate.
District Seven: In charge of lumber distribution. Like district four, there are a large variety of jobs that go with lumber. From factory work to the actual cutting down of trees-- contrary to the popular belief, not every single one member of this district has held an ax. This District is considered one of the lower-middle class, and the living conditions range from good conditions to poor.
District Eight: In charge of factory work and textiles. You can find 90% of the district here working in the factory as a required job. They deal with creating clothing and other dealing with cloth jobs. This District is considered one of the lower-middle class, and the living conditions range from good conditions to poor.
District Nine: In charge of hunting and working with animal skins. Like district four and seven, there are a large variety of jobs that go with hunting. From factory work to the actual shooting the animals and bringing in the meat. Contrary to the popular belief, not every single one member of this district has held a bow. This District is considered one of the lower-middle class, and the living conditions range from good conditions to poor.
District Ten: In charge of livestock. 70% of this district has been on a horse and herded the huge quantities of cattle around this incredibly large district. The other 30% deal with the factory work and other small jobs of slaughtering and dealing with the animal care. In charge of lumber distribution. This District is considered one of the low class districts, and the living conditions range from good conditions to very poor.
District Eleven: In charge of the general agriculture. This district is the largest district and contains over 200 acres of plantation and other crops. There are many different jobs in this district, from field work, to apple-picking, to sorting through the various crops. This District is considered one of the low class districts, and the living conditions range from good conditions to very poor.
District Twelve: In charge of mining coal. There are a few other small jobs that families run-- but this is the main industry. This District is considered one of the low class districts, and the living conditions range from adequate conditions to very poor.
